RSD Symptoms
Michigan and Co-Counsel Nationwide
Different patients will experience differing RSD symptoms. The primary symptom of RSD is pain, which continues after an injury heals. This pain can be intermittent or continual. It may travel from the affected body part into other regions, as in pain radiating from the finger into the arm. Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy pain symptoms are often described as burning, squeezing or pins-and-needles sensations. Though deep pain is a major concern, RSD patients experience a range of additional health problems – from swelling to tremors.
Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy Symptoms
After an injury, an RSD patient may notice the skin in a previously traumatized area turning white, blue, red, or purple. It may have a blotchy appearance. Common Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy symptoms include unexplained skin changes. The skin can also feel cool or warm to the touch. These symptoms of Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy are likely caused by damage to the nerves that affect skin temperature and blood flow. A physician should be consulted promptly if signs of RSD appear. An early diagnosis could support positive treatment outcomes.
